OFF ICE EDGE CLASSES HELD AT CARLSON ICE ARENA AND GAR

Off Ice Edge is a program designed to train ice skaters off the ice under the direction of Audra Abernethy-Hinds.  There are four components of our structured classes: Gymnastics (focusing on flexibility and strength), Trampoline, working on jump techniques and air sense), Circuit Training (improving endourance and stamina), and Dance (to embellish style and grace).  All elements of each class are based on U.S.F.S. guidelines.  Off Ice Edge works in conjunction with the Rockford Park District to help provide a complete training program for skaters here in the Northern Illinois area.  We are very excited to announce that our program was endorsed by the United States Figure Skating Association in 2005!!

Packages are now being offered to suite any age and/or talent level of skaters.  These packages can be purchased at the Carlson Ice Arena's main office and include not only Off Ice Edge classes, but dance classes as well.  Students may also pay a $12.00 walk-in rate for all classes.  Please call 815-654-3867 and leave a message for Audra Abernethy-Hinds with any questions.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PLACEMENT IN DANCE CLASSES IS AT THE DISCRETION OF OUR DANCE DIRECTOR.  PLACEMENT IN ALL OTHER CLASSES IS DETERMINED BY THE SKATER'S LEVEL OF ABILITY ON THE ICE.

OFF ICE EDGE ATTIRE:

Dance shoes (preferably black jazz shoes/sneakers, jazz pants or tight fitting shorts, stretchy form fitting tops (must cover the stomach), hair up, no baggy clothing or jewelry.
